Diane Aull
Search Engine Marketer
Over the course of her career, Diane has worked as everything from a college instructor to a coffeeshop barista to a manufacturing cost accountant, and in fields as diverse as music and banking. She holds a degree in accounting, but hasn't actually worn her green eyeshade in over 15 years.
Diane is no newcomer to computing or to the online world, having purchased her first computer when CPUs were steam-powered and you had to whittle your own keyboards and monitors out of wood. She started hand coding web pages as early as 1996, using nothing more than Notepad. (Barefoot! In the snow! Uphill, both ways!)
In 1998, Diane and a business partner formed NineYards.com. Originally a web design company, the partners expanded their service offerings over the years. They now provide a full range of small business marketing services, with an emphasis on online marketing techniques. Their clients include Shoe Suede Blues, a band fronted by former Monkee Peter Tork, as well as many small businesses and entrepreneurs.
In addition to her involvement with NineYards.com, Diane is the Webmaster for a manufacturing and distribution company in Raleigh, NC. She set up and maintains the company's online store, which generated gross revenues of over $100,000 in its first six months of operation. She also serves as a moderator of the Search Engine Friendly Design and Usability forum at HighRankings.com, and is an editor at Skaffe, MusicMoz, JoeAnt and several other directories.
Diane lives in the Triangle area of North Carolina, near Raleigh and the Research Triangle Park, with her husband, her son, and four cats. In her spare time (ha!), she enjoys crochet and counted cross stitch. She is a member of the Crochet Guild of America and an avid collector of Victorian and Edwardian era needlework patterns.
A raving chocoholic, Diane has been known to dream in HTML.
