Sally Falkow
Web Content Strategist
Web metrics and analytics fits all my passions - I love to figure out why things are the way they are, I love to write and I love to help people.
I have been teaching how to use metrics and analysis to create a business strategy for years. Now I have the capabilities to actually track visitors on a website and see where they click and where they don't. Finding out why is so interesting to me.
I am that rare blend of art and science. I am a creative person - a writer - yet I am also very logical and fascinated with the 'why' of things. I am always asking 'how come'. I bet I drove my mother mad when I was young!
For five years I lectured in communication theory, with application specialities in marketing and PR (Oxford-Brookes University, UK.) The subject I absolutely loved teaching was consumer and buyer behavior. I find it so fascinating to get into peoples heads and figure out how they are thinking - why they do certain things. Using research to predict future actions and scenarios is an amazing science. Predicting trends from research and observation is another aspect of this that really excites me. I just love dong this.
And the web lets you have so much data! Being able to tag visitors and compare their behavior on a site - and see who gives the best results - is just amazing. And I get to give people sound advice, based on real stats, that helps them grow their business.
And when you get results from using these tools - the conversion rates and ROI go way up - it is a high!
Here is a great unsolicited testimonial I got from a visitor to my website this weekend. Moments like these are worth their weight in gold.
I have studied your e-book, Web Sense. I have read every page of your
website.
I applaud you! I send mega kudos.
This is just what entrepreneurs need to get ahead on the Internet.
I definitely want your review of my website.
